    Elly,
I'm guessing thee & me (most here) are where we are supposed to be! What the **** to do!!??
One day at a time, One task at a time, One piece of your preparation plan at a time. Do the things that you are skilled in. When The Storm's full fury is upon us The Faithful will gather to share their skills, stuff and FAITH! Keep your mind, eyes, ears open and keep your own council. Scope out those neighbors, friends and Church members that may be a positive asset to you/yours .... and avoid those that are negative. Scoffers and the foolish have been with us always ... it's in the Bible :) ....... and don't forget satan's useful idiots! .... they have been with us always too  As we used to say in the old AF. Situational Awareness = Keep your head on a swivel and Check 6!
Even if there is no Storm and planet Earth manages to stumble along for another 40 years all of the above is still a great Op Plan ... is it not?? .... Oh!!.... Say/Think ... JESUS I TRUST IN YOU! ... a lot!

    GOD SAVE ALL HERE!!

Padraig, I am just catching up on this thread and I wanted to respond to your 20 or so statements of fury and exasperation. I think the most poignant point you made was that these men are allowed to return to their respective diocese and guide the faithful. These men are allowed to stay as our chosen shepherds.

If a write up of what they had said was given to Pius the XII or any Pope before that I am sure many of them would have been excommunicated. Even Pope Paul VI or St. Pope John Paul II would have been shocked, though by the time they came around I am sure they knew what many in the the Church hierarchy truly felt behind closed doors.

Personally, and it pains me to say this, if they aren't going to be excommunicated then it might be better if there had been a schism. The fact that this large group of men is staying inside the Church can only bode ill. Their ideas spread like a cancer and will continue to infect the rest of the Church. It is painful to watch as prophecy unfolds that many of the Church leaders are leading the faithful down the road to Hell with a smile on their faces.

    There is an old adage:
"Keep your friends close and your enemies closer".
    Perhaps this is PF's plan?
In any case it all is unfolding as God wills it and WE now know who the potential BadGuys are!!

All I can say is - at least 2/3 of the Bishops are on the right side this time. During the Arian crisis, it was more like 1/3 on the side of Catholic truth. Either way, God is still guiding His Church.

Padraig, I am not sure either why rebel Bishops and Cardinals are allowed to spout what is heresy or dangerously skirting the line without consequences. "Let the weeds grow among the wheat" shouldn't really apply to Bishops.

I think this passage from the book of Revelation is applicable. It is a prophecy of the end of days when 1/3 of the stars will be swept from their lofty places by the dragon during his fight with the woman. Classic Catholic teaching on Revelation speaks of the stars as referring to the priesthood. Their purpose is to guide the faithful as the stars guided ancient travelers. The woman represents both Our Lady and the Church. It is interesting that the stars are swept to Earth as if to join with the world of man.

    Revelation 12:3-12:4

And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads, and ten horns: and on his head seven diadems:
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered; that, when she should be delivered, he might devour her son.

I believe Mother Angelica said this refers to the number of angels who rebelled against God and followed lucifer. Makes sense that they would be cast down upon the earth as demons. I am not saying she is right, but just another way to look at it.

It is a time of such confusion.

I am conforted by the fact I can do nothing about it all but pray and fast. I think heretics are a bit like weeds in the garden , they must be cut down at once or they grow seeds and spread.

I have no idea why this is not being done.

Infant Jesus of Prague The More you Honor Me The More I will Bless Thee

Commentary from Fr Haydocks Duey Rheims Bible Rev 12

Ver. 4. His tail drew the third part of the stars: a great part of mankind. This is spoken with an allusion to the fall of Lucifer from heaven, with the rebellious angels, driven from thence by St. Michael. (Witham) --- According to Pastorini, this passage refers to the angels whom Lucifer drew after him by sin to the earth. Menochius interprets it of those bishops and eminent persons who fell under the weight of persecution, and apostatized. --- And the dragon stood before the woman, &c. The devil is always ready, as far as God permits him, to make war against the Church and the faithful servants of God. The woman, the Church, brought a man child, or rather many men children, stout and valiant in the profession of the true faith, able to resist and triumph over the attempts of the persecutors in all nations, not of themselves, but by the grace and power of Jesus Christ, their protector, who is able to rule all nations as it were with a rod of iron, to frustrate all their attempts, and turn their hearts as he pleaseth. Hello Elly, my neighbor to the south in CT! I think I did have some anxiety in September or so, and I did start to believe that something would happen when the pope was here per LTTW. But when nothing happened and here we are with October almost being over and the syonod not creating an instant schism...well I have been feeling relieved that we have gotten past these past few months. But a voice in my heart has told me this is not the time to get complacent. So, I just want to be sure I use what little time we have left wisely. Like Miker said, I believe I have grown more in peace as I unite my will to God's. In fact, I don't think I will have true rest until I am living his divine will for my life. So, I count on our heavenly mother to continue to lead me down that path that is his divine will for my life. I guess my only suggestions for you are to consecrate yourself to Mary if you have not done so yet. This should ease your anxiety over whether you did enough in raising your children, etc. Ask our mother to lead you to Jesus and his will for your life. Increase your prayer life as much as you can. Leave the rest to God and surrender yourself and your worries to him as much as you can. I would be aware of prophecy but don't get hung up on it. I hope this helps you!

Yes, there is that allusion as well. I am sure these lines can be interpreted in many ways. The bible is full of "types" of things which describe later happenings as well. For example Esther is a "type" for Mary. Israel is a "type" for the Church. Possibly the fall of the angels was a "type" for the falling of the clergy. I was referring to some Catholic scripture scholars such as Fr. Herman Kramer who felt this referred to the clergy in the latter days.

I hope this is not what Charlie Johnston called "the pope hitting his stride."

  14. Praetorian and IJP are both correct. Typology is often used in the scripture. One example is the Apostle tells us that Christ is the "new Adam" in more than one place. The Church Fathers did speak about those who had fallen away as fallen stars in an allegorical sense and it was 90% of Bishops and Christians who fell away during the Arian heresy while some later came back. There much furor on how to take those back who repented.

On the other hand, the 1/3 of the stars who fell from Heaven are also the fallen angels (Rev 12) who fell after their test. There was a Franciscan Blessed (can't remember his name at the moment) who had a vision of this test and God's incarnation in the womb of the Woman. Lucifer's response was non serviam. So, by his rebellion he changed form Lucifer (the light bearer) to Satan (the opposer or the accuser). Brother Leo also recounts the episode of a Franciscan who had a vision that St. Francis would occupy the high throne in Heaven that Lucifer lost: pride falls while humility is raised on high

Rebellion again creeps into the hierarchy and the laity. Let us pray that we remain humble and not fall

I often wonder to myself what would Padre Pio do? I try to model myself on him and this brings great peace.

  16. If St Francis came here today and tried that in Vatican City, what would happen?

The final report of the Synod is very interesting. I thing they did a good job.
As we all know, the media have to be read very cautiously, since some of them are not looking at the real facts and words of the Synod.
Here: http://goo.gl/XIKtQO you'll be able to find a good summary of it, on the ways in which "the Catholic Church across the world can both bolster the family and help integrate and heal those who are suffering from marriage breakdown."
While reaffirming the traditional doctrine, the synod's final document shows "a broad shift in the Church’s pastoral focus. Divorce and cohabitation are no longer trends simply to be deplored; the Church is asked to help people in practical ways to get married and to stay married. And it is asked to tend especially to those who have suffered the collapse of marriage and family, helping to heal and integrate them."

Look into the state of the Church during the time of St. Francis. He brought a renewal by starting with himself!

  20. Ah . . . . now I see the meaning. Thank you Kathy. Yes, the Church again in our time appears to be crumbling and in need of repair.
