Mercy Sunday: Standing Before the Open Heart of God

On the Second Sunday of Easter, the Church invites us to pause and contemplate the greatest truth of our faith: God is rich in mercy. Known as Mercy Sunday or Divine Mercy Sunday, this day draws us into the very heart of the Gospel—the unwavering, patient, and healing love of God poured out for a wounded world.
Holy Saturday stands alone in the Christian liturgical year as a day defined by silence, waiting, and profound mystery.
This just came into my knowledge yesterday and wow what a task to accomplish but the promises are amazing. I really want to do this and started yesterday.
In the lives of several Saints we have an account of a very similar apparition. Our Lady appears and hold out two Crowns for the saint to choose. One is of flowers the other of thorns. This prefigures two paths the soul can choose through life. One is a life of relative ease, the other that of the thorns of Christ carrying His Cross. The saint always chooses the crown of thorns . Not only do they choose the Cross they often seem to have a real hunger and thirst for it. In its most extreme...

A year or two ago, a confessor at the end of my confession, recommended that I read the above book. I bought a copy and wondered if this good priest had mistaken me for a deep theological thinker. It is deep stuff indeed written as a prayer manual in the 14th century. Has anyone else read this book and, if so, what do they make of it? The basics of it seem to be that the only thing we can know about God is that he is unknowable but that, equipped with that piece of knowledge, some perhaps...
